What We Believe - Statement of Faith
Grace's Mission
Our missions is to help people become authentic followers of Jesus Christ.
To achieve our mission, it is helpful to conceptualize our efforts into three broad categories. . . UP, IN, and OUT.
UP - toward our God
Everything begins here! First, we want to encounter God by looking up to Him in life, corporately in worship every Sunday and privately in a daily walk with God.
IN - toward the Body
Once we are looking up to God, we want to look inward, first to strengthen our personal growth in Christ and then toward the Body, so we can build each other up in our faith.
OUT - toward the World
Looking up to God and in toward the Body will prepare us to live out our faith to reach the lost for Christ.
A Brief History . . .
Grace Evangelical Free Church was founded in 1978 with 36 charter members as a result of a desire to have another evangelical church on the Iowa side of the QCA. The land was purchased in December 1979, and the first building was erected in 1984. The education/gym building was completed in 1995. A new youth center has recently been added to the north of the gym. Pastor James Anderson served the church for the first eight years, after which Pastor Arnold Conrad came in June 1987 and served until the beginning of 2005. Pastor Robert Bressert joined Grace E. Free in September of 2005 as our new senior pastor. Dan Doebel, our associate pastor responsible primarily for youth, arrived in May 1988.
