February Book Selection:
- February is African-American History Month - celebrated since 1976.
- February1 is National Freedom Day - President Lincoln signed the resolution that became the 13th Amendment outlawing slavery on Feb. 1, 1865.
- February 12 is Abraham Lincoln's birthday (our 16th president), Feb. 12, 1865.
- February 14 is Valentine's Day.
- February 22 is George Washington's birthday, Feb. 22, 1732.
- February 22 is Ash Wednesday, the 1st day of Lent.
