Core Classes

Core Mission
To achieve our mission, we want to encourage people to look in three directions: UP, IN, and OUT.

  • UP - toward our God
    Everything begins here! First, we want to encounter God by looking up to Him in life, corporately in worship every Sunday, and privately in a daily walk with God.
  • IN - toward the Body
    Once we are looking up to God, we want to look inward, first to strengthen our personal growth in Christ and then toward the Body, so we can build others up in their faith.
  • OUT - toward the World
    Looking up to God and in toward the body will prepare us to live out our faith to reach the lost for Christ.

Core Classes

Core Class 101: Discovering what GEFC is all about
(offered in January, May - taught by Dave Hays & Bob Bressert)
This class offers a basic introduction to the Christian faith as well as GEFC's unique reason for existence. Learn about our Vision and Mission, explore the structure of the church, and discover what it means to be a member of GEFC.
Core Class 201: UP - toward God - Discovering how to grow spiritually
(offered in February, September - taught by Randy Vogel)

Everything begins here! This class teaches us how to encounter God by looking up to Him in life, corporately in worship every Sunday, and privately in a daily walk with God. This class covers topics including worshiping God, Bible study, prayer, and other basic disciplines of the Christian life.

Core Class 301: IN - toward the Body - discovering where I fit in
(offered in March, October - taught by Wayne Allen)
God created each of us to give and receive love. He intended us to enjoy emotional intimacy in relationships. But unresolved spiritual and emotional issues prevent us from experiencing what God designed. When this happens, we will have trouble being effective for Christ at home, church, or on the job. This class will introduce you to connecting with God on the spiritual and emotional level, help you identify personal problems, open your heart, and lead you to experiencing true freedom in Christ. Also, we will provide a spiritual gifts test that will help you get plugged in and connected through ministry opportunities available at GEFC, like Adult Bible Fellowships, small groups, and giving.
Core Class 401: OUT - toward the world - Discovering how I can impact my world
(offered in April, November - taught by Bob Bressert)
This session puts you on the journey of discovering your life mission and offers training and tools you'll need to share your faith in Christ with confidence and make a deep impact for Jesus Christ in the lives of those around you everyday. Come see how you can make an eternal difference in other people's lives, impacting this world for Christ.
