Instrument Ensemble for Easter Sunday: If you would like to be a part of this, contact Doug Davis or the church office.
For Easter: We will be trying to put together a Women's Choir for Easter Sunday, April 4th. There will be a signup sheet in the narthex, if you'd be interested in participating. More information about rehearsals to come. If you have any questions, contact Catherine Lyon at 332-5689.
Men's Nite Out: No word defines manhood better than...BROOMBALL!!! Grace's Men's Ministries, along with the 3-on-3 Basketball League, has reserved the QCSC (700 W. River Drive, Davenport) on March 19th (Friday), from 10 p.m. until midnight. The cost is only $7. You need not be experienced. It's hockey without skates...and the ball is bigger...and you use a broom (we'll provide these). Contact Pastor Dan 210-5347 or 388-0740) by March 15th or sign up in the narthex on the Men's Ministries bulletin board to reserve a spot.
Iowa Military Marriage Conference, Des Moines, March 26-27: Over 3000 Iowa soldiers are scheduled to deploy this summer. Imagine being separated from your spouse and family for months or years and then returning after so much time has passed and readjusting. This conference will focus on strengthening, enriching, and preparing Iowa Military marriages for this separation. Couples will be pampered with a one-night hotel stay in West Des Moines, meals, marriage resources, entertainment by comedian Dennis Swanberg, and multiple marriage treaching sessions by Dr. Gary & Barb Rosberg. To say "thank you" for their service, people from all over Iowa are sponsoring the event costs so military couples only need to pay $20 to attend. Please consider helping by:
- Encouraging Iowa military couples to register for the conference at www.GreatMarriagesAndFamiliesInIowa.com
- Pray for the soldiers and their families
- Donate financially so more couples can attend (see above website)
New Prayer Curriculum: NavPress is coming out with a brand new prayer curriculum. But they want to test the curriculum first. This once-a-week test would run for six weeks starting the week of March 21st. You would do the study at home and then we'd come together for a 75-minute discussion. I would lead the discussion and anyone is welcome to attend. We would meet either on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. or on a Monday or Friday night at 7:00 p.m. If you would like to participate in this pilot program, please contact me (Don Seline) or the church office, 388-0740, this week and tell me which day you prefer. The most votes wins.
Drama Meeting!! On Sunday, March 21st, immediately following 2nd service, there will be a short meeting for anyone interested in Drama. We will be meeting in Room 101, the old teen room in the gym. Please spread the word, and we will see what God puts together!
Important VBS Announcement: This summer's VBS program is from Answers in Genesis and is entitled "The Egypt Files: Decoding the Mystery of Life." The scheduled dates are Sunday, July 11th through Thursday, July 15th. It will once again be an evening program. In order to pursue plans for VBS, we are in need of donations. We are praying for the Lord to use His people to provide for VBS. Last year, we saw seven young lives make a commitment for Christ, so this is an important ministry for Grace!! There will be a box in the narthex if you would like to specifically donate to VBS. We have until April 1st to see if enough funds are designated to pay for this year's program. There will be an announcement in the Easter Sunday bulletin whether or not VBS will take place this year. In the case we do not raise enough this year, money will be in the VBS designated account toward next summer. If you have any questions, please contact Stacy Morley or Lori Oakley. Thank you and please keep VBS in your prayers!
