Youth Ministry

If you're a teenager looking at the youth site, check out the pictures Below.
If you're an adult, read about our youth ministry and then take a look at the pictures Below.
Crosswalk is the name that's been chosen to epitomize the Jr. & Sr. High Youth Ministry at Grace. "Whether you turn to the right or the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying 'This is the Way, walk in it.'" Isaiah 30:21. The youth ministry at Grace is teaching teens how to walk with Christ.
Three areas that are important in the youth ministry at Grace:
- The 5 Purposes that direct our youth ministry. They come loosely from Psalm 105:1-5:
- Evangelism - The gospel is shared on youth group nights and through our teens bringing it to their spiritually lost friends. On many youth nights, we have close to a 50/50 ratio of church kids vs. outside kids.
- Worship - Many of our teens play instruments and help in leading worship. (Pastor Dan believes in putting guitars in the hands of teens and getting them started. In the 20 years that he's been at Grace, he has probably purchased 50-60 guitars.)
- Encouragement - The adult sponsors and teens help in creating an atmosphere where everyone is accepted and cared for, where visitors immediately feel welcomed.
- Vibrancy - We're all about taking a teen's faith beyond the intellectual and helping them embrace a vibrant faith - a faith that makes a difference - in their lives and those around them.
- Memories - It's our desire that when teens look back at their years in Grace's youth ministry, it will be flooded with wonderful memories.
- Almost every church is know in their community for something. We'll just call it their "Spiritual DNA." Over the years, Grace has become a church known for its love for teenagers. On any given day during the week, you'll find teens actively ministering to the Body. Whether it's being part of the Sunday worship team, teaching a Sunday school, helping in AWANA, taking on leadership roles in the youth ministry, even being the camp coordinator, teens are ministering at Grace.
- The minute anyone walks into the Crosswalk Center, they are struck with "WOW! They've created such a cool place for the teens!" Whether it's the VW van in the center of the room, or the fireplace in the corner, or even the diamond-plated bar. This room screams:
Our teens are important at Grace. The youth ministry has created an environment where kids can come, be themselves, and hear the truths of Christ in a non-threatening atmosphere.
